NHL outdoor game in Europe coming in ‘relatively near future,’ Daly says
NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly confirmed at the European Player Media Tour in Munich that an outdoor NHL game in Europe will happen in the 'relatively near future,' with Germany identified as a top contender to host. Daly suggested FC Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena, which seats 75,000 fans, could potentially host such an event following a newly announced partnership between the NHL and the German soccer club. The NHL is already expanding its European presence this season, with regular-season games scheduled in Helsinki featuring the Carolina Hurricanes and Seattle Kraken on November 12 and 14, and a three-year commitment to holding games in Germany beginning with the Ottawa Senators and Chicago Blackhawks.
