NHL rumors live updates: Panthers acquire Jacob Markstrom, other deals

The Florida Panthers acquired goaltender Jacob Markstrom from the New Jersey Devils, one day after also obtaining Akira Schmid from the Vegas Golden Knights, overhauling their goaltending ahead of NHL free agency opening on July 1. The St. Louis Blues also moved to buy out Jonathan Drouin's contract. The moves come as the Panthers' current goalies, Sergei Bobrovsky and Daniil Tarasov, are both pending unrestricted free agents for the 2025-26 season.
