NHL Status Report: Nugent-Hopkins to make season debut for Oilers

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will make his season debut for the Edmonton Oilers against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday after missing time due to a lower-body injury sustained during practice on September 28. Seth Jarvis, who had surgery in June to repair a torn labrum and rotator cuff in his right shoulder, is listed as a game-time decision for the Hurricanes; Jarvis led Carolina with 32 goals last season and recorded 11 points in 19 playoff games. Additional NHL injury news includes Linus Ullmark being placed on IR for the Senators and Alexander Wennberg being listed as week-to-week for the Sharks.
