NHL takes draft pick away from Golden Knights over media policy violation

The NHL has penalized the Vegas Golden Knights for violating media access policies after their series-clinching 5-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on May 14. Head coach John Tortorella failed to meet with the media following the game, and the dressing room was not opened to reporters. As a result, the league stripped the Golden Knights of a 2026 second-round draft pick and fined Tortorella $100,000, with the team given the option to appeal.
