NHL Vezina Trophy finalists announced: Vasilevskiy nears rare goaltending territory

The NHL announced the three finalists for the Vezina Trophy on Wednesday: Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay Lightning), Ilya Sorokin (New York Islanders), and Jeremy Swayman (Boston Bruins). Vasilevskiy, who led the league with 39 wins this season and helped Tampa Bay to their ninth straight playoff appearance, is the favorite to win the award for the second time, having previously won in 2019. A second Vezina win would make the 31-year-old only the fifth goalie since 1982 to win multiple times, joining active multiple-winners Sergei Bobrovsky and Connor Hellebuyck.
