Nick Kyrgios provisionally suspended from tennis after testing positive for cocaine

Nick Kyrgios has been provisionally suspended from tennis after testing positive for cocaine following a sample submitted during the Mallorca Open on 22 June, which was found to contain benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine. The suspension has been in effect since 4 August, as confirmed by the International Tennis Integrity Agency. The ITIA noted that Kyrgios has the right to appeal the provisional suspension but has not done so to date.
