Nigel Walker appointed chair of Welsh Athletics

Nigel Walker has been appointed as the new chair of Welsh Athletics, taking over from outgoing chair Steve Perks after serving as vice chair for the past 12 months. Walker represented Great Britain in the 110m hurdles at the 1984 Olympics and Wales at the 1986 and 1990 Commonwealth Games before transitioning to rugby union, where he made 121 appearances for Wales. His dual sporting background as both an Olympic hurdler and Wales rugby international makes him a notable appointment to the role.
