No repeat of Wimbledon heroics as Fery exits US Open

British wildcard Arthur Fery lost in the first round of the US Open on his debut at the tournament, falling to Italian 13th seed Lorenzo Musetti. The defeat means Fery was unable to replicate the impressive run he made at Wimbledon earlier this year. Musetti advanced to the second round of the US Open with the victory.
