Noemi Rüegg wins Vuelta Femenina opening stage
Swiss cyclist Noemi Rüegg of EF Education-Oatly won the opening stage of the Vuelta Femenina, a 113.9-kilometer race from Marín to Salvaterra de Miño in Galicia, Spain. Rüegg launched her winning sprint with 175 meters to go in wet, chaotic conditions that included slick descents and a late crash that split the peloton. Her victory earned her the race's red leader jersey, the first of the 2025 edition.
