Northern Ireland name 12-strong boxing squad for Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

Northern Ireland have named a 12-strong boxing squad for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Reigning champions Michaela Walsh and Jude Gallagher are the only surviving gold medallists from Birmingham 2022, where Northern Ireland won five titles; Walsh will defend her featherweight crown while Gallagher steps up to lightweight. The squad also includes Commonwealth Games debutants Jon McConnell and Louis Rooney, as well as returning competitors John Paul Hale and Nicole Clyde.
