'Not a carnival sideshow' - doubles players fear cutbacks

A group of leading doubles players have accused the ATP Tour of attempting to end doubles tennis as a viable profession. At a meeting held at Wimbledon on Tuesday, the tour proposed changes that could include halving the size of doubles draws from 2028. Under the proposals, only 16 teams would compete at ATP 1000 events and just eight at smaller tournaments.
