Notre Dame fends off Miami rally to dethrone top-ranked Canes

Notre Dame defeated previously unbeaten and top-ranked Miami 31-24 in a college football matchup, avenging a prior loss to the Hurricanes that had derailed Notre Dame's College Football Playoff hopes the previous year. The Fighting Irish held off a Miami rally to secure the victory and dethrone the Canes from the top spot in the rankings. The win marks a significant result for Notre Dame's CFP aspirations this season.
