Novak Djokovic was eliminated in the second round of the Cincinnati Open by Argentine Thiago Agustin Tirante, losing 2-6 6-4 6-4 in his first match since Wimbledon on July 10. The 24-time Grand Slam champion struggled severely with the heat and humidity in Ohio, requiring a medical timeout after an 18-minute third game and appearing to vomit at one stage. Elsewhere in the tournament, Cameron Norrie lost to Alexander Zverev, British No 1 Arthur Fery advanced, and Katie Boulter was eliminated.
