Oilers’ Connor McDavid Starts NHL Season in Record-Setting Fashion

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid has accumulated 12 points through just four games to open the NHL season, a record-setting pace not seen from any NHL player since the turn of the century. McDavid, widely regarded as the best hockey player in the world, celebrated a goal against the Anaheim Ducks on October 7, 2026, helping Edmonton to a 5-2 lead in the second period at Honda Center. His historic start has drawn widespread attention as no player in the modern era has matched this level of early-season production.
