Oilers, Hurricanes bring high-powered offenses into clash

The Edmonton Oilers and Carolina Hurricanes, two of the highest-scoring teams early in the NHL season, meet on Thursday night in Edmonton. Center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is set to make his season debut for the Oilers, which coach Mike Babcock says will stabilize their line combinations and improve their center depth. The Hurricanes have performed well despite a rash of forward injuries, while Edmonton has won consecutive games heading into the matchup.
