Olympic champion Marchant retires from cycling

British cyclist Katy Marchant, 33, has announced her retirement after a 13-year career. She won Olympic gold as part of the women's team sprint trio at the 2024 Paris Games, along with World and European titles that same year, and had previously claimed an individual sprint bronze at her 2016 Rio debut. Her career concluded with a silver medal at the 2025 Commonwealth Games, having decided against continuing to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
