Olympic champion Marchant retires from cycling

British cyclist Katy Marchant, 33, has announced her retirement after a 13-year career. She won Olympic gold as part of the women's team sprint trio at the 2024 Paris Games, and also claimed World and European titles that same year, having previously won a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Marchant considered competing until the 2028 Los Angeles Games but ended her career following a silver medal at this summer's Commonwealth Games.
