Olympic medallist weightlifter handed four-year doping ban

Bulgarian weightlifter Bozhidar Dimitrov Andreev, who won a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, has been handed a four-year doping ban after testing positive for an anabolic steroid in an out-of-competition sample. The ban means he will miss the next Olympic Games, though he will not be stripped of his Paris 2024 bronze medal. The sanction was reported on November 6, 2026.
