Onley ruled out of Tour de France with injury
Oscar Onley, a 23-year-old Scottish cyclist riding for Netcompany-Ineos, has been ruled out of next month's Tour de France after suffering a significant shoulder injury in a crash on stage six of the Tour Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. Initial reports indicated a dislocated shoulder, but further tests revealed the injury was more serious. Onley had finished fourth in last year's Tour de France, equalling the best-ever result by a Scottish rider, a mark set by Philippa York (then Robert Millar) in 1984.
