Otis Poole on world junior bronze and his high jump potential

Nineteen-year-old British high jumper Otis Poole won a bronze medal at the World U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, clearing 2.21m to equal his personal best and ending a 30-year wait for a British men's high jump medal at the event. Just five days after returning from Oregon, Poole began his collegiate career at Texas A&M University, where he will study business and compete in NCAA athletics. The achievement caps a breakthrough season in which he also claimed the British indoor title with a 2.20m clearance, having only taken up the sport four years ago.
