Ovechkin motivated by shot to win Stanley Cup again with Capitals
Alex Ovechkin, the NHL's all-time goals leader with 929 goals, has committed to playing a 22nd season with the Washington Capitals after signing a one-year contract on July 2. The 40-year-old captain, who turns 41 on September 17, is motivated by the desire to win a second Stanley Cup, and believes the Capitals strengthened their roster in the offseason by adding Jordan Kyrou, Alex Tuch, Boone Jenner, and Vincent Desharnais.
