Over 400 athletes head to Bulgaria for European Elite Boxing Championships

More than 400 boxers representing 40 national federations will compete at the European Elite Boxing Championships 2026, held from September 17–25 in Sofia, Bulgaria, at the Asics Arena Sports Hall. The competition spans 20 weight divisions (10 men's and 10 women's), with World Boxing ranking points on offer. Host nation Bulgaria will field 16 athletes, including reigning European champion Rami Kiwan, Olympic bronze medallist Javier Ibáñez, and four-time European champion Stanimira Petrova, who returns after a two-year absence.
