Packers releasing veteran kicker Brandon McManus after playoff misses
The Green Bay Packers have released 34-year-old veteran kicker Brandon McManus, who was entering his 13th NFL season and had recently received a $1 million roster bonus in March. His release clears the way for rookie Trey Smack, drafted in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Florida, to take over kicking duties. Smack connected on over 81% of his field goals in college and was named All-SEC third team in his final season.
