Packers sign Marlon Jones, undrafted cornerback who battled cancer in college
The Green Bay Packers have signed undrafted rookie cornerback Marlon Jones, formerly of Vanderbilt and Eastern Washington, who missed the entire 2024 college season after being diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin's lymphoma. Jones received his cancer diagnosis the day before he was set to move to Nashville following his transfer from Eastern Washington, where he had been regarded as one of the top FCS cornerbacks. By 2025 he was in full remission and returned to play for Vanderbilt, earning an NFL opportunity despite going undrafted.
