PANORAMA: Four running for World Athletics President (so far); EU looking to cut off Russian sports re-entry; UEFA demands FIFA answers by Nov. 2

Four candidates are running for the presidency of World Athletics, according to a report from The Sports Examiner. The European Union's diplomatic service, the European External Action Service, circulated a September 16 document seeking ways to block the re-integration of Russian and Belarusian athletes into international competition, noting that 14 summer Olympic federations — led by the International Judo Federation in November 2025 — have already allowed Russian athletes to return. Separately, UEFA has set a November 2 deadline for FIFA to provide answers on an unspecified matter of concern.
