Panthers edge Kings but lose Marchand to injury

The Florida Panthers defeated the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 at Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday, with Matthew Tkachuk scoring the go-ahead goal in the third period and Jacob Markstrom making 19 saves. The win gave Florida six of eight possible points on their four-game season-opening road trip. However, forward Brad Marchand sustained an apparent lower-body injury late in the second period after being high-sticked by Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke and crashing awkwardly into the post.
