Paro dethrones Crocker to land welterweight title

Australia's Liam Paro defeated Belfast's Lewis Crocker by a unanimous points decision (115-113 on all three scorecards) to claim the IBF welterweight title at the Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane on Wednesday. Paro, 30, previously held the IBF light-welterweight title, making him the first Australia-born boxer to become a multi-weight world champion since Jeff Fenech. The victory saw Paro dethrone Crocker in what was described as a gruelling contest.
