Patriots trade for Eagles WR A.J. Brown in blockbuster deal
The Philadelphia Eagles have traded star wide receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots in exchange for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick, with the deal announced on Monday pending a physical. The trade was executed after June 1 to avoid a $43.45 million dead money cap hit, instead splitting it into $16.3 million in 2026 and $27.1 million in 2027. The move reunites Brown with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, under whom he played his first three NFL seasons with the Tennessee Titans from 2019 to 2022.
