FC Cincinnati's Pavel Bucha was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 17 after scoring a brace — his third career brace for the club — in a 4-3 victory over Western Conference leaders Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Wednesday night. Bucha's goals in the 9th and 56th minutes were his 16th and 17th career goals for FC Cincinnati, moving him into 10th place in club history for goals scored, with the 56th-minute strike serving as his third career game-winning goal. Teammate Evander was also recognized, earning a spot on the Team of the Matchday bench.
