Penguins Re-Sign Forward Evgeni Malkin to a One-Year Contract

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed veteran forward Evgeni Malkin to a one-year contract extension through the 2026-27 season, carrying an average annual value of $5.5 million, as announced by GM Kyle Dubas on May 26, 2026. Malkin, a three-time Stanley Cup Champion (2009, 2016, 2017), has spent all 20 of his NHL seasons with Pittsburgh, accumulating 1,269 games played, 533 goals, and 1,407 points, ranking third in franchise history in most major categories. The seven-time All-Star has won numerous individual honors including two Art Ross Trophies, one Hart Trophy, one Conn Smythe Trophy, and one Calder Trophy.
