PGA Tour announces first event of overhauled schedule

The PGA Tour has announced the Travelers Championship as the first confirmed event in its upcoming Championship Series, part of a major schedule overhaul planned for 2028. The restructured Tour will be split into two tiers — the Championship Series and the Challenger Series — with approximately 120 top players competing across 23-24 Championship Series events, including the four majors, the Players Championship, and FedEx Cup Playoff events.
