PGA Tour announces membership criteria and eligibility for new competitive structure

The PGA Tour announced on Tuesday its new membership categories and eligibility criteria for the PGA Tour Championship Series and PGA Tour Challenger Series, which will replace the current competitive system beginning in 2028. The Tour also approved eligibility for a 'last chance' series, a new points system, and performance benefits for the 2027 season that will determine 2028 membership composition. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp stated the new model is designed to reward excellence and maintain a meritocracy where performance dictates opportunity.
