PGA Tour announces Rocket Classic's replacement on 2027 schedule

The PGA Tour announced Tuesday that the Rocket Classic will be replaced on the 2027 schedule by a new tournament sponsored by insurance company Sompo, to be held at Silverado Resort's North Course in Napa, California, from July 29 to August 1, 2027. The move comes after Rocket Companies withdrew as title sponsor following the 2026 Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club, which marks the eighth and final edition of that event. The PGA Tour has stated it remains interested in returning to Detroit or Metro Detroit, but the earliest a Michigan tournament could return is 2028, pending a new venue and title sponsor.
