PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp unveils sweeping changes to professional golf
PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp unveiled a sweeping new competitive model for professional golf ahead of the Travelers Championship near Hartford, Connecticut. The PGA Tour boards approved the plan, which will begin with the 2028 season and splits the tour into two distinct series: the PGA Tour Championship Series and the PGA Tour Challenger Series, designed to elevate competition and increase payouts for winners. The boards also approved Rolapp to succeed Jay Monahan as commissioner upon Monahan's retirement at year's end, while Rolapp retains his CEO role he assumed in June 2025 after a 22-year career at the NFL.
