PGA Tour FedEx Cup primer: 50 players left in the race to East Lake

The PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Playoffs have been narrowed to 50 players following the FedEx St. Jude Classic. The remaining competitors will head to Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis for the BMW Championship (August 20-23), the first Tour visit to that venue since 2008. The top 30 players after the BMW Championship will then advance to the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, where the largest first-place prize in golf will be awarded.
