PGA Tour future postseason to conclude with match play event

The PGA Tour is restructuring its postseason format, with commissioner Brian Rolapp announcing the changes at the Tour Championship in Atlanta. The new postseason will feature a Championship Series Finale — a 72-hole stroke-play event for the top 90 players — followed by a reimagined Tour Championship held in match play format over two weeks. The overhauled postseason will make its debut following the 2028 regular season.
