PGA Tour lands new sponsor for top-level Championship Series

The PGA Tour has signed a multiyear sponsorship deal with Japan-based insurer Sompo, marking its first new sponsor ahead of its 2028 structural overhaul. Sompo will title-sponsor a full-field tournament at Napa's Silverado Resort from July 28–August 1, 2027, filling the slot previously held by the Rocket Classic after Rocket declined to renew its deal. From 2028 onwards, Sompo will back a Championship Series event, with the location yet to be determined, and the tournament will air on CBS, Golf Channel, and the PGA Tour's streaming platforms.
