PGA Tour pro Alejandro Tosti's caddie, Cliff Ellis, quit without warning in the middle of the opening round of the Biltmore Championship on Thursday, departing during the 18th hole while Tosti believed he was simply taking a bathroom break. The two had clashed during Tuesday's practice round, though the mid-round exit still surprised Tosti, who finished the round caddyless and shot a one-over-par 72. The 30-year-old Argentine has a history of caddie changes and was previously suspended during the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour playoffs for conduct unbecoming a professional.
