PGA Tour schedule upheaval claims its first tournament
The Rocket Classic, a PGA Tour event held in Detroit, has announced it will end after its 2026 edition, concluding an eight-year run in the city and nearly 13 years with title sponsor Rocket Mortgage. Tournament director Mark Hollis confirmed the decision, noting the event had raised more than $10 million for local organizations during its tenure. The cancellation is attributed to weaker player fields and title sponsor Rocket Mortgage declining its option to host the event in 2027, and is expected to be the first of several major PGA Tour schedule changes under new CEO Brian Rolapp.
