Phoebe Gill and Jake Odey-Jordan lead GB world U20 team

A provisional 36-strong Great Britain and Northern Ireland team has been selected for the World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene (August 5-9). Phoebe Gill, 19, leads the squad after recovering from two stress fractures, having qualified with a championship record of 2:00.49 in the 800m at the England Athletics Championships in Bedford. Jake Odey-Jordan, 18, who set a European U20 100m record at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Oregon, has been selected for both the 100m and 200m, with a season's best of 20.33 over 200m that ranks him fourth globally in the junior age group.
