Pidcock wins Larciano on road racing return

Tom Pidcock won the Gran Premio Industria & Artigianato di Larciano, a 196.4-km road race in Tuscany, just seven days after claiming his second elite UCI XCO mountain bike world championship in Val di Sole. The Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team rider attacked on the final ascent of the Mungherino with less than 13 km remaining, finishing solo ahead of Christian Scaroni (12 seconds back) in second and Anthon Charmig in third. Pidcock described finding his road legs quickly after switching disciplines, expressing satisfaction with his performance in the intense heat.
