A pioneering research study has been launched to investigate how repeated head impacts in women's rugby affect the brain. The study is prompted by growing concern that female brains may be softer and more vulnerable than male brains, making women potentially at greater risk from head trauma. While the risks of CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) in men's sports have been widely studied, research focused specifically on women has been largely absent until now.
