Pitt loses QB, upsets Virginia Tech as it seeks 'respect' in polls

Pittsburgh improved to 5-0 with a 35-33 victory over Virginia Tech on Friday night, though the Panthers lost their starting quarterback during the game. Head coach Pat Narduzzi used the win to publicly lobby Associated Press Top 25 voters, arguing his unranked team deserves recognition as 'a hell of a football team.' The upset victory over the Hokies strengthens Pitt's case for a place in the national rankings.
