Players from 28 MLS NEXT Pro teams able to compete in 2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup

U.S. Soccer has confirmed the format for the 112th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, with players from 28 MLS NEXT Pro clubs eligible to participate in the 2027 tournament through 25 MLS affiliates and three independent teams: Carolina Core FC, Chattanooga FC, and CT United FC. The 96-team field will include clubs from Division I, II, and III professional leagues, as well as 32 amateur clubs. The tournament begins with the First Round in April and concludes with the Final scheduled for December 15, 2027.
