Premier League and EFL set for summit with Football Regulator over new financial deal
The Premier League and English Football League (EFL) are holding a high-level summit in London, with Premier League CEO Richard Masters and chair Alison Brittain meeting their EFL counterparts Trevor Birch and Rick Parry to advance talks on a new financial redistribution deal. The Independent Football Regulator's chair David Kogan and CEO Richard Monks are also attending, as the watchdog holds legal powers to impose an agreement if the parties fail to reach one. Premier League clubs could be asked to vote on a proposal as early as this week, potentially ending one of English football's longest-running disputes.
