Pretorius breaks Gayle's T20 record score

South African batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius broke Chris Gayle's long-standing record for the highest individual score in men's T20 cricket, hitting an unbeaten 188 in a domestic fixture in South Africa. Gayle had previously held the record with his 175 not out scored for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL in 2013. Pretorius's innings surpassed that mark by 13 runs, setting a new benchmark for the format.
