Putellas provides mindset change as London City bid to upstage champions

London City Lionesses CEO Martin Semmens revealed the club's Instagram page generated 34 million hits in just days after Alexia Putellas won the Ballon d'Or on Monday. The independent WSL club, owned by Michele Kang, currently sit third in the top flight and will host Manchester City on Sunday at Hayes Lane, Bromley, in a match featuring seven of the top 30 Ballon d'Or-ranked players between the two sides. Semmens credits the signing of the world's best player with transforming the club's mindset, a remarkable turnaround from finishing eighth in tier two just two and a half years ago.
