Qi-Chi, 18, lands first senior medal with big PB

Eighteen-year-old triple jumper Qi-Chi Ukpai from Canterbury won bronze at the UK Athletics Championships in Birmingham on Saturday, setting a personal best of 13.14m, surpassing her previous best of 12.76m. Her jump ranks fifth on the all-time UK under-20 women's rankings and was the 17th best in the world this year. The result qualifies her for the Under-20 World Championships in Oregon in August, achieved just days after completing her A-levels at Simon Langton School.
