Quarterfinals at last! Gauff edges Bencic to break new ground at Wimbledon

Coco Gauff reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the first time in her fourth attempt, defeating Belinda Bencic 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 on July 5, 2026. Gauff overcame a previous record of 0-3 in fourth rounds at Wimbledon and staged a comeback after losing the first set. She will next face fellow American Jessica Pegula for a place in her first-ever Wimbledon semifinal.
