Rangers bolster scoring with trade for Dorofeyev

The New York Rangers have made several offseason moves ahead of the 2026-27 NHL season, headlined by the acquisition of 25-year-old forward Pavel Dorofeyev from the Vegas Golden Knights on June 26 in exchange for two draft picks and a conditional 2028 first-rounder, followed by a seven-year, $77 million contract signing. Dorofeyev tallied 37 goals and 64 points in 82 regular-season games last season, adding 12 playoff goals in 22 games. The Rangers also acquired defensemen Sean Durzi from the Utah Mammoth and Marcus Pettersson from the Vancouver Canucks on July 1 to bolster their blue line, after finishing 34-39-9 and missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2025-26.
